Acoustic and Fire-Rated Partitions

Where enhanced performance is required, we can install tested partition systems designed to meet specified acoustic or fire-resistance requirements.

This may include specialist plasterboards, multiple board layers, acoustic insulation, deflection heads and appropriate perimeter sealing. Every system is installed in accordance with the relevant manufacturer’s specification and project details.

The required performance should be established before installation so that the correct boards, framing centres, insulation and junction details can be selected.

SFS for External Wall Construction

  • SFS is commonly installed between or outside the primary structural frame to create the backing structure for an external wall or cladding system.

  • Accurate setting out is essential. Stud positions, deflection heads, movement allowances, fixing centres and openings must correspond with the approved design and the requirements of adjoining trades.

  • Our installers work carefully from the project information to construct a consistent framework that is ready to receive the specified sheathing, insulation, fire protection and façade finishes.

  • SFS can also provide a robust solution for internal walls where greater height, strength or rigidity is required than a standard metal partition system can provide.
