What is a Raised Access Floor?

Access floors are often used as an alternative to a suspended ceiling as they are more aesthetically appealing that using dado trunking to contain power, data, IT and fire safety infrastructure.
Refurbishment projects of historic or listed buildings often specify raised flooring, as opposed to traditional construction methods, to avoid damaging historically important features.
Raised access floor systems comprise of removable panels that are set on a grid formation of adjustable vertical stands.
